Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

I just got one of those coolers. I'm waiting on some nipples from Honda to make it all work. I'll let you know how mine ends up.

are you using the OEM cooler or and aftermarket sandwhich plate cooler?

i've seen the aftermarket ones, but there like $70.00. i'd rather use the free OEM unit if at all possable.

baisclly, lets say the treads on the f23 port got crossed treaded or something. you'd have to remove it, and put a new one in. dose it screw in or is it pressed in???

if it's screwed in. i could take it out and screw the OEM prelude cooler in. but if it's pressed in, i guess i'd have to scrap the idea.

            IDK

To make the oil cooler work you will need the A6 water pipe if you are using it on the F22A series.

The threaded fitting that the oil filter screws onto is screwed into the block. It has a 27mm or so hex that you put a socket on and take it out.

your talking about the h block......i know about that. i talking about the F block. there's no hex or bolt to take the port out.

i'm going to try and see if i can back it out with two nut tight'n together.

if that dosen't work then, F**k it.

I've got a spare junk block I'm gonna try to remove the threaded portion on. A couple guys on HondaTech did it, but removed the pics and didn't put up any information.
That gives me hope it'll unscrew.

I intend to use the factory oil cooler I picked up off of bruno8747.

So basically it works like my Greddy aftermarket oil block adapter.

OK............ i got it off. just said F' it and put a towle on it and twisted it off with some channel locks. it came right off.

i put the cooler on, and it fit. so now i have to do some waterpipe modding and get a new gasket for it.

                          Sweet. Good info.
Have you figured out the water lines yet?

on the H block there's a port for the coolant to feed into the block. you'll have to remove that.

screw it in to the coolant drain bolt on the back of the F block. mine didn't screw all the way in, so i put so thread sealant on it, and put it in.

you'll run in to a lil problem thou. the drain port is on the opposite side. (on the H it's on the right, on the F it will be on the left). so the rubber hoes that comes out of the top of the oil cooler will have to be modded or replaced.

the second problem is the waterpipe. On the H the end of the WP that gose into the water pump has a bell shape. the (F23 in my case) has a straight pipe. so the pipe won't go into the block.

so i'm guessing i'll have to get a lil cutting and welding done.

The f22a6 water pipe has the same o-ring on the block side as the f23 water pump. I know the f22a1 water pipe is what Pirate used in that build, and the f22a6 is the same shape, so it shouldn't be a problem.
