hehe i ran my buddies system with a 750.1 kicker and a 350.1 on a 4 guage with no cap with no issues of power....
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

Has nothing to do with anything. All you did was post misconceptions in your reply. I don't care who you work or worked for.

            I can vouche for that.

I have 3 ways in the back and they hurt my ears! That's without an amp.

I'd get an 8" sub in the back, at least.

hey no offense but since you told me you work at sereo one i can't really take your word on this stuff, because brad is a full of shit kinda guy. Everyone up here would drive to knoxville for a pair of rims or stereo stuff than buy from him.... his reputation of being an ass has proceeded him verry well....

Next time you work, ask if he knows my boss... Mathew King....
the man who taught me all i know.. I'm pretty sure you'll get an intresting story.

Nothing against you bro, but i will never recomend anyone to go to that store , i actually do the opposit, and our shop has alot of influence....

damn i cant wait to get my net hooked up! this things already on page 2!

and as expected we are already beginnin to bicker about capacitors and what not lol, every audio thread ends up that way i swear.

anyways, unless your planning on pullin a lot of power, upgrading your alternater and adding a cap are not necessary.. but are always a good idea. capacitors do not really help with anything at all.. they have their purpose tho.

memphis equipment is great stuff. worked with it in the past.

i have to disagree with loudcb7 as far as new alpine equipment, i think the type-r series sounds good, the new headunits suck, but thats purely interface issues for me. but of all the brands my store carries, alpine supercedes most of them.

and ChIoVnIdCa how come in every single audio thread you never have anything positive or helpful to say? you either bash on someone or just say meaningless statements. play nice and be helpful homie otherwise why bother?

i cant think of nething else right now cuz im wired on full throttles, peace

Its always helpful just may not be always positive.. I just hate when people spread mistruths. In this thread in particular I agreed with your response and quoted and added to it.

did you have a ported or a sealed box....ported IMO gives off too many rattles where sealed doesnt.

lets clear this up a lil...

my box will be a 12 inch...? something in a sealed fiberglass box with the correct amount of airspace the unknown sub needs.

the back deck will have 6x9's of a 4 way unknown speaker.

the front will have???? what is the best size for the front?

then i will have a single mono amp for the sub..

and another 4 way amp for my speakers...

I do not know what speakers i want yet because the back and forth stuff is kinda confusing and killing my brian, but thats ok, i wanted new knowledge..

i do not want a name............. I want great SQ
thats all i am worried about... I don't give a hoot about what they look like either....

the sub i think i want.. a infinty 12" Kapa.. or do these suck?

this is the head unit i am considering.. and i think i will have.
                        http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/JVC-M...oductDetail.do

amp wise I'd been looking at the 1200 watt bazooka mono amp for the sub... is this a bad idea?
i had one in the past and loved it

Definitely nothing wrong with any Infinity Kappa sub and a Bazooka amp. They're both quality products that should do everything you need.

Since your car is a sedan, you should have 6.5" speakers in the front doors and the rear deck. An easy choice for speakers would be Infinity's for those as well. I had a full set of their Reference Series speakers in my last truck and they sounded great.

dude, didn't you read what was said? 4 ways are overkill and no assurance of good sound. I have Alpine 6x9 3 ways and they are nice, but I don't think I'd bother with 3 ways if I was redoing the setup.

2 way 6x9s or 6.5's for the rear (depending on what pods your car has) should be just fine. I would recommend Infinity over Alpine if you prefer mids and highs over bass oomph.

Get Infinity Kappa components for the front and just 2 ways for the rear.

I had an Infinity Perfect 12.1 before my car was stolen and I loved it. Very clean sound in a sealed box and plenty of powerhandling to spare.

that'd probably be alright, except the sub you want to get is only rated for like 350-400 rms. I dont know whether the amp your referring to is 1200 max/peak or rms, but don't put any trust in the max/peak rating.

I love the alpine PDX series. The 600.1 model gives true RMS 600w at 1/2/4 ohms and is really well built. It is also quite small so good if you dont want to lose lots of space.

i dunno if u wanna take my 2 cents or not being i work for the guy. but i personally dont like rear speakers if i added some i would do a 6.5 component set after getting (fabing) an adapter ring. u want SQ so go ahead and amp ur front stage. sumthing that does atleast 40x2 or more RMS.

now the infinity u have is a pretty decent sub of course do some shopping see what else is out there i think u might find a woofer that yeilds a little more output then kappa but yet is still in the same price range. Now ur bazooka amp i used to be a fan till they started being all flashy and crap. now i think u can do some more shopppin around catch some better deals. check out www.woofersetc.com great deals and they offer alot of great brands.
