    Remote wire

Ok I know the generals to hooking up a audio system, but my ?ion is can you run the remote to the antenna rather then to the headunit since the antenna turns off when the key is turned off?

no because if you do when you go to cd, the power antenna looses power and retracts and that means so will your amp and shut off during a cd and turn on when you listen to your radio

do u have an aftermarket radio? if you do most of them have a power antenna wire and a amp turn on wire, power antenna wire is blue, and the amp turn on one is blue/white, how is is hooked up? you might have it off ignition, if you do then you shouldnt have the problem

well i no ur suppose to hook it up to the blue on the radio but i wanted to try something different. I hooked it up to the blue/white on the antenna harness thinking it was the same wire on the radio (blue) so it would do the same thing. But like i said when i did that i noticed when the key was out the amp was still on. I knew something was up then. So that must be a 12v constant then i guess.

yeah that wire is constant and i believe there is a white/yellow wire which is the power input from the radio which makes the antenna go up and down
