6x9 are honestly worthless. u dont use anything smaller then 8 for bass. 6x9's arent subs ovals doesnt matter who makes them will never compare to a set of components!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, never use anything smaller then an 8 for bass because 6x9's are worthless.
please tell me the cons to haveing the 6.5 comps in there rather then the 6x9 ..... and if i hear "the lack of bass" u will be awarded a smiley!
Well the 6.5 are generally better for sound quality due to it shape/size.
As I've said before they (6.5 vs 6x9) each have their pros and cons. I don't recall saying the 6x9 were better then having 6.5 comps in the rear
Something else to look at would be the pricing of the speakers, in this case the 6x9 would be cheaper then the 6.5 comps. It may not apply to the CB but if a car was designed for 6x9 for the rears, its much simpler to get the same size then to modify the housing.
Lots of variables. A $100+ pair of 6x9s will be better than a $20 pair of 6.5s.
But being general, and assuming they are similar speakers that would be used in the rear deck of your CB: I'd say go 6x9 (more surface area) without a sub, and go 6.5 (possibly more mid/midbass clarity) with a sub.
The size and shape, etc doesn't mean much to me. To me its about what gets the job done. Just like racing, it doesn't matter how you do it, you just need to get to point B before the other guy.

Well if you want deep bass get a sub. I had infinitys for my mids and highs and a sub for my lows. I got out of the "slap" phase so I sold mostly everything. I still got the 6.5 and 6x9s that ill be throwing on the "For Sale" thread soon. Right now my music is road and engine noise.
