    oem stereo bracket

i've lost the gold oem stereo bracket. would i need this to mount my stereo back on or is there another way?

i've actually tried mounting the deck on the bottom rather than the top (pocket sits on top) but drinks tend to get in the way.

let me know if you guys ahve any solutions.

i'm planning on buying a new deck but i have no idea how to mount it without the bracket.

    Sorry...

...but all of the mount kits that I have seen use that lower bracket to mount the stereo to. I took mine out at first when I was installing my HU and came to realize that there really isn't any substitution for a kit and using that bracket. I am sure you can find one (cheap) at any junk yard as our cars are pretty common and that is not a common part for people to scavenge.

so is it true that we'll have to swap out the bracket in order to hold up our aftermarket HU's?

The kit i have doesnt use any brackets to mount the deck. It has tabs that go around the opening and hold it up with that. I have no brackets under there from alot of cutting that I have done. Go to a stereo shop, and talk to somebody there.

            ^ creative..

anyways the aftermarket dash kit (metra part number met 997898) doesnt need the rear bracket. its all held in by clips that someone else stated.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

i dont have a bracket on mine i just used a kit i bought from a stereo shop and used the lil metal sleve that came with the radio bent up some tabs to hold that secure and then slipped the radio in fits snug and sturdy no problems with it
