    Pioneer Deh 8500 problem

Well My cd player is freaking out on me, As some of you know this cd player flips down and reveals The screen and Audio controls. Well when mine flips down everything except sound shuts off, Cant even turn it off, i have to yank the face plate off carefully. :P

I called a repair place and they want $200 to start working on it, uh yeah right. The guy said there is a ribbon in the case that usually go bad, anyone firmiliar with this problem? Anyone good at fixing CD players and can get parts to fix them?

If i keep it closed it works fine, the problem lies in that i reset the cd player and all my settings reset and it sounds like shit now. And i cant fix it because i cant open it...

it could be the ribbon cable, i see it mostly on kenwoods and the occational pioneer. i have no clue how to swap it out but 95% of the time if you call these guys http://www.pacparts.com/electronics/...TOKEN=44256060 they can get you the part if you wanted to try it yourself

      should of bought warrenty.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

just buy a new one. its not worth it (to me at least) to fix it, pay someone else to or pay for the parts, id much rather just buy a new one... make sure you get a warranty (especially if you at best buy its sooooo worth it! its 2 or 4 yrs, cant beat that)
