Sad Sad day for my sub

Well yesterday I was checking out why my sub was not playing and I checked everything. I put my multimeter on the wires going to the sub and got zero ohms. I then took out the sub out of the box and put the MM on the voice coil leads and still zero ohms on coil number one but I get like 2.3 on coil 2.

Its a dual 2ohm setup and I had it bridged to get 4 ohm total. So I guess its toast.......Any other suggestions to test?

I am in depression rite now, cause that sub was my pride and joy lol. That was the MB Quart PWE-352, 15" SQ sub. Now the bad thing is they DON'T make them anymore. It really sucks. And its hard to find that specific 15" model even on ebay for a good price.

I'll just be rolling around with the interior speakers for now. They pretty damm clean and clear but I miss that Low Low Tone I get with the 15". I have another one in my room thats brand spanking new but its not the dual 2 ohm that I want. Ill just have to bring it out of storage then and see what I can do.

I heard the infinity subs before and if its not the Kappa Perfect VQ then you cant compare it to the MB Quart. Same thing as the JbL. If its not the GTi then it dont really compare.

Kickers.....well they are good yea but not for me. I like my SQ alot and those will just throw everything out of wack. Maybe if i change my mind and go for all spl then ill consider some kickers....but still I want 15"ers lol.

I have been pondering now......going to another brand.....ID, or RE. If the price is right I might snatch up a SX from RE. The XXX is still out of my budget for the moment.

I'm a fan of re, I use to have a 15" RE SE the version from 2001 and sold it recently with less then 2 hours of use on it, and while the SE sat in my room I had 2 re8's that now have misaligned cones and have been hacked up by a friend.

Now I have no sub and my interrior speakers were decent at first, but I don't think I can stand no sub for much longer since it has been about a year since I've had one.

you can pick up a SX for 250 off ebay most of the time. i'm Running the 06 XXX with a XX Colossus II on it, and my other setup is a MX with a Planet Audio VX2200d. Both are amazing drivers for SQL but as you said they are a little spendy.

The good part of buying the MB Q sub was that it came with 3 year warranty. I have to call rockford and get them to replace it.

Now that the 06 XXX is out and around I wonder if there is a big price drop in the 05 model.

Well I finally got some time today to call Rockford today and Asked them about the subwoofer warranty. Well They told me that they dont carry my sub anymore and the replacement for it would be the POWER T1 15".

The replacement is $450 and I paid $120 for my sub last year......nice upgrade if u ask me.

What u guys think of the T1 though? Good sub?
