the 2 subs i have (12" power acoustik FUBAR 1800 watt) are in a dual bandpass box and the sound of the subs completly suck. they dont seem loud at all i have a 3000 watt mono class d amp. im thinking i need to change my box to a sealed box. the site recomends a box size of 1.2 Cubic feet of airspace.... can anybody give me the dimensions of the sealed box i should build? i dont know how to calculate that shit, i tried before but im always off and never get the dimensions right.

12*12*12 =1728 CI
You want 1728*1.2= 2073CI.
You'll have to choose at least one dimension, depending on where you want the box, and probably two, since the baffle board will have to be wide enough to mount the driver.
The third one just gets extrapolated from the other two.2003 Maxima SE Titanium Edition

go to bcae1.com
they have a box size calculator on there that even takes into account the thickness of the mdf that you use.
i used that for my box.

SteveB mentioned 1728. that is the volume of one cubic foot. since you need 1.2 cubic feet per sub, he multiplied it by 1.2 to get the total volume needed for each sub. that gives you 2074 cubic inches that you need for each sub.
so we have to make the box deep enough so that our 338 square inches makes a box of 2074 cubic inches.
now, before we get ahead of ourselves. we need to subtract the displacement of each woofer from the total volume. say each woofer structure inside the box takes up 150 cubic inches, then you need 150 additional cubic inches inside the box to get the right volume.
so if you want to give the displacement of each woofer i'll finish the calculations. PM me for details if you like, or on here and other ppl could use it. i dont care
