But on the left .. is that what is reffered to as the speaker pod?

i drive a 90 exr and those look identical to the 6x9 pods my car came with. i think 6x9 is so much better than 6.5 , thump wise anyway

Yes, the speaker pod is the casing that holds the speaker, I d get them if you have 6.5s stock and want to upgrade to 6x9s speakers.
