I just got a 12inch kicker sub with the box off my buddy for $50.00 and a little 200watt amp so i went out and bought a 800watt sony X-PLOD amp me and my pops hooked up in SATURDAY it hits hard and im happy with my set up!!!! so just on tuesday my back speaker would play and then shut off its like when the bass hits it turns off and goes back on i checked all the cables and fuses and they are all ok!!!so im like W.T.F?? IM ALL CONFUSED AND SHIT and dont know what to do if you guys know what could be this problem get back to me with the info!!!

Its either because your power wire doesn't pull enough juice, your grounds are crappy, or your charging system can't keep up.

It could be a loose connection just about anywhere. I would try checking out the speaker wire on the rear speakers. good luck.

yea. it could be something loose that the when the bass hits it causes it to lose its connection, or it could be that you dont have enough juice.

but check every connection, especially the ground. if its still not fixed, then you prolly need a capacitor

i think ur amp is cutting of b/c its pulling to much power, see if the light changes when it cuts off

how is the amp getting is audio input?

I have a problem with my external crossover using the speaker-level inputs. It can only take so much, so if the speakers output is too high, the crossover shutsdown. If you use the low-level inputs, you can put enough juice through to clip the amp.

when my bass hits i see the that the light sort of fades off and goes back to be all bright!!!!!!!! i need my BOOM,BOOM!!!!!!! I have the weekend off and i want to cruise down to the lake with my windows down and my system all loud and bumping!!!!!!! thanx guys keep the information coming thanx a bunch again LATER THE DIZZLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yea, you need a capacitor. your lights dimming means your alternator doesnt have enough power. also, upgrading your battery can help too.

is your system ran off a high-low converter? or is the inputs run from the back of the stereo (the stereo has to be aftermarker to have the plug), if it is off the high low converter, i would say thats your problem

i used to have a bigger amp in my car it powered 2400watts and 2 pionner 12s but then my car got jacked and got it recovered and thank god my motor was still in it and all they took was the system and my carbon fiber hood

Turn the level down on the amp. Also, adjust the crossover on the amp so it doesn't amplify as much high sound, you'll get a more concentrated hit as well as using somewhat less power. Tweak tweak tweak man...

Actually this is really common with Sony's I know I've been running them for years now, If you want a good running Sony Amp you have to go with the ES class all the rest is simply crap, what is happening is your amp is doing what's called Over Current Shutoff, basically there is a circuit break in the sony amps to protect the fuses and circuitry (Why they need protection for protection is beyond me) When large amounts of bass hits it draws more current as it pulls more and more that circuit break begins to heat up the more heat the less it takes to open the circuit breaker, send it to sony they'll replace the amp for the cost of shipping. Some sony amps are more prone to this, some aren't it's a give or take with sony, they produce good power and rather decent SQ but their quality of lower models is Wal mart quality if not a little better.

hey guys i found out what the problem was it was just my power cable the front end were the battery goes was just messed up and got it fixed and now i have my boom,boom in my car thank you guys for all your replys and trying to help ME out and if u need any mechanical questions just come to me and il answer them as soon as i can!!!!THANK YOU GUYS ALOT!!!!
