(known as DFS Alarm+) Let's say you break into a car equipped with one, and the face is not in the radio, you have a certain amount of time to either put the keys in the ignition or put the face on the radio. If not, a "pain generator" will turn on, blasting every speaker that you have in your car with this deafening high-pitched tone! I love this thing. Old school is the bomb!
thats pretty freakin cool. ive never heard of that kind of alarm. im guessing it sounds sort of like the fire alarms at schools.

Oh, damn. That would deter anyone.

that thing is freakin sweet! i've never seen one like that! personally, when i upgrade from my shitty blaupunkt headunit, i will probably go Alpine, Eclipse or Kenwood route. I've really never been a fan of pioneer and their new designs kind of deter me even more, but hey any pioneer headunit is most likely better than my blaupunkt. hah.

I'm telling you guys, this thing is the bomb. I forgot to mention that you can wire it up to your existing alarm system too! It also has this thing called AutoEQ. Here's how it works: You connect a small mic to the head unit and get out of the car. The head unit will then send out test tones to all of your speakers. The mic will then pic up the sounds and then adjust the EQ for you! Unplug the mic and you're done. This unit was WAY ahead of it's time! If you want one, check ebay, but good luck finding one! -g

What does your 9000R have to do with the new lineup?

I had a DEH-P7200 in my '96 Accord but you don't see me talking about it.

Dude, I'm just saying that the old school stuff is better than the new stuff. Chill.

I don't think they're too bad. I just wish they'd make versions without all the visual thrills and frills. Nothing screams "steal me" like a flashy headunit...and all those bells and whistles could be money put to something useful...

I thought I was the only one with the pre-out problem...but it was my fault...I think I grounded the speaker wire from my 4-channel while operating the stereo. Stupid :wall:... but I use high-low converters. It sounds as good I guess, although it clips a little at higher volumes...and it beats waiting around for a month or two to get a new H/U...
