question about valentine 1 radar placement...

well i am going to purchase my v1 soon and i originally wanted to hardwire it behind my rear view mirror and place a concealed display where the spedometer is but i wanted to ask you guys if placing the detector behind the mirror would cause it to not pick up signals properly? i read that it needs a clear path to the read windshield to pick up laser (dont know how often you get hit from behind with laser anyways though)...let me know what you guys think

I have the v1 and love it.

The correct place is the center of the windshield for the BEST range as far as that goes. the v1 has the best rear detection also. You can still have it high just you may loose a little but i mean its more then likly comming from the front anyways.

I have the concielded display and dont even use it. I wanan take it apart and make some custom thing in my dash =)

Let me know how it goes

why not just make a cover for it and place it in the dash velcro it to the dack and put the cover over on the end sides the the cover to hold it down and make it look like its a part of the actual dash.

No i mean place it ontop of the dash ontop of the clocknot in the dash aaron and cover it with plastic material to make a mold around it and have it held down nice and tight with velcro. Yes and window tint does effect the lazers capability to detect clearly. And it may actually make the signal weaker inhibiting its full capacity to function properly.
