    Good 1/2 farad capacitor?

I'm looking for a good 0.5 farad capacitor. I'm just running one battery, so I guess a 16-volt one would do. It doesn't need a digital display, however, I would like one with a built-in distribution block with 4AWG in/8AWG out (I saw a Lightning Audio one that had this feature, not sure how common this is). Alternatively, if you can't think of any capacitors like this off the top of your head, just let me know who makes decent capacitors, and I can do the footwork and see if they have what I'm looking for. I'm running around 600W RMS total, and prefer SQ over SPL (not sure if this matters with capacitors at all). Thanks.

After a little more research, it seems with a little over 600W RMS, maybe I should get a 1 farad cap instead. ANy thoughts here?

well...IMO, most stock alternators can handle up to and including 600wRMS without a cap, however, if you run ur stereo at night, or in weather extremes and there are other losses on the electrical side of the equation, then you might look into getting a cap..
also, you need one farad for every 1000wRMS that you are running...so that 1/2 farad cap would fit your situation well

Someone needs to answer this guys question, cause I'm looking into getting one as well. I'm running an Alpine Type-R with and Infinity Amp. I've never had a fading issue, but I'm also paranoid and want the extra insurance a cap offers.

in case you didnt read what i just posted...don't be paranoid...its nothin major..if you are under 600wRMS..then i wouldnt worry about it unless you are running ur lights dim...if you aren't then the voltage rails arent sagging, and then you dont have any problems..

Yeah, I'm not sure if I need one yet, and in reality I probably won't. But I was curious who made decent ones if I did need one, and wasn't sure if there were any other reasons to use a cap besides if your headlights dim.
