I've always said bandpass boxes are for SUV's, but I still believe they suck. If you play rap music, etc., you should get a ported box. If you play a lot of rock, etc., I'd go with a sealed box.
However with a dub-7, you should probably have a sealed box, just because of the power they put out. I'd go with a cheaper set of 12"s like Alpine type R's, or maybe 1 Kicker S12L7, probably for around the same price range.
i can tune it. lol. between focal polyglass speakers, a jl 4ch 300w amp, and a $1400 nakamichi headunit, i know how to tune a box. i just dont build my own ish because im not one to trust my own work when it comes to building anything from scratch...

UPDATE: This weekend I got my Kenwood Excelon reciever working in the CL-ROSEWOOD-1. I won't be getting the Pioneer reciever anymore, as this one is better.
well, the reason why i wanted one was a friend with an is300 had a sealed box for his w7 and he put it into a bandpass box after about 3 weeks and it hit alot harder. the only car audio stores around here are car toys, and they blow. i'll do more research and see where I go from there.
