    Mounting Sirius Tuner box?

Ok i just brought a sirius ready headunit, and the jvc1 sirius tuner but I wanted to know if any of you had sirius or XM radio where did you mount the tuner box, and where did you put the antenna.

    This is the box:

I would mount it on the floor under the seat or in the glove box , and the antenna at the top left corner of rear window.

      or

Yes it's very easy. I actually just did this to my headunit.

I have XM though. I had the Roady 2 unit and i was sick of it and wanted everything stealthy so now it's super clear and doesnt go through FM radio frequencys. It's nice. All you need is the adapter 45-50$ and the actuall unit. I got lucky and bought an open box one at tweeter for 40$ it was defector brought it back and got a WHOLE new unit in exhange. Yeah the kid seemed new. But yeah it's all self explaintory. Just plug the wires in. Read the directions it comes with tada. then call sirius to reactive the new unit or whatever wait 20min and your good to go.

      Deff work it man

      Cheers

Tip the glove box down and zip tie it along side of where the glove box goes when it's closed.
It really is a labor of love making a neglected CB7 with "normal wear and tear" into something worth being proud of.

put the antenna on the dash and stealth the wire, sirus is fine on the dash.

as for the unit itself behind the deck sometimes, but probably under the passenger carpet will be best.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

that sounds better than on the roof.

by the way, does anyone have pics of a sirius/xm install? I'd like to see how weird the antenna looks on the roof or dash.

ill take some tomorrow, we install like 15 of those a day so ill give you an idea.

i forgot, sirus has issues with mounting on the dash cause of the reception SOMETIMES>>>...only xm we put on the dash cause they said its fine. So you may want the sirus antenna outside, either corner top or center.

Yea I mounted the antenna inside the car next to the right rear speaker, and put the tuner underneath the front passenger seat, and eveything is fine now.

That sounds like an even better setup.

put some foil backed dynamat on the underside. the antenna needs a at least a square foot of metal behind it

I have a question, is it normal when using satellite radio for the signal to go out when you go under things such as underpasses, cause thats been happening to me alot?
