    Alpine speakers any good?

Well my Eclipse's lasted me 8 good years, and i think since the fronts are blown, its time to move on.
I work at bestbuy, and i don't have much money lately, so since i get about half off on speakers their, i'm going to buy them their.
The guy at the place said Apline Type-R's are the best speakers they have? Anybody know if they are any good?Granted i know they won't be MBquarts or anything.

Alpine Type R speakers are alright. Good if you can get them cheap, but okay overall.

I didn't like the Type R Alpines on the Best Buy wall.. the Kenwoods sounded better to me on the same board.

I went with Kicker 6.5" all around from Crutchfield. They were on sale by $40 off

Alpine type R's are GOOOD for the money. You can get em on ebay for about 220 a pair. Not too sure about the mids/tweets, but their subwoofers are very good. Type S's will sound good, but don't put out the kind of bass that the Type R's do.
