    http://www.autotek.net/autotek/index.html

Maxxsonics management team consists of over 80 years experience in the consumer electronics industry. We are veterans of well known brands such as Clifford, K40, MaxiGuard, Klipsch, Blaupunkt and Avital

    taken from www.autotek.net

Autotek as we can see is made by the company Maxxsonics, which houses brand names such as Clifford and Blaupunkt. Blaupunkt is a mid company with okay products, but none of which are top quality. Blaupunkt seems a middle of the way brand, which provides adequete sound technology, with seemingly nothing special. Clifford is a car alarm company, which produces again OKAY alarms, not the best, but not the cheapest. I would say an autotek amp is in the middle. Def. not gold, but def. not a horrible bronze. If the price is okay, then go with it, but FYI www.bestbuy.com and the store is having great sales on amps.

That amp is not rare. That must be one desperate person trying to sell his shit to say it's rare. Autotek is a good brand, although last thing I heard was them going downhill. The older Autotek stuff is good though. I'd buy their 4000 watt amp. But there are just too many other brands to look at before Autotek. They are owned by Maxxsonics, who makes Crunch and I forget which other ones. Here is a link to the amp you are talking about. It does put out it's rated power, but notice 800 watts is MAX, meaning you are looking at a bit less power.

My friend had an Autotek Amp. He had it for like 2 years or so of use and it died.

well bro if it bumps then go for it, the right thing to do is probably get your descision from a first hand experience. find some one with that in their setup and see if you like it. thats what i did. PUNCH pwns

I've heard horror stories about Hifonics (even though I have never tried any of their newer stuff). But I also hear that their higher end amps are good (like the 3200 watt collossus.

autotek isnt a popular amp, so first hand experience is hard to come by. From what Mike said, i wouldnt rely on the amp, but rather use it until i could afford something better.

let me start off by saying that i stand behind Hifonics amps, i ran many systems with them and only one person i know screwed his up. I think he had some wired crossed or touching for a while. The thing with these amps (from my knowledge) is that you have to use one that is rated at more power than you need, for example if you speaker is 800 watts rms, look for a 1000 watt rms amp, my saying is that it is better to fry a speaker than fry an amp. But getting back to AutoTek, I heard about their older amps, I got really good reviews about them, but only once have i seen one in action. One of my friends was running a system in a 3 series, in the back he had 2 w7's (i think 12s or 13s) and when i told him to open the trunk let me see the amp, he open it and to my suprise was this little ass AutoTek amp pumping the shit out of these speakers. If my amp was to go, i would look into one.

Like I said, older Autotek stuff is OK. The new stuff, well it's like Hifonics, went downhill compared to the old-school models. BTW, Hifonics DO NOT put out it's rated power. Pretty close, but how do you feel like paying for something that doesn't perform as claimed?
