I have a prestige two way paging Alarm W/ Auto Start on my 5spd... i never leave my car in gear i thought that puts strain on the tranny... but it works fine havent had any problems just dont auto start your car if u werent driving last because 95% of manual drivers leave in gear

Btw Shops will do it but 1. they will have u sign a form or 2. they wont give you a Receipt proving they did the install... u lose out on the manufacturer warranty but with ignition kill i dont worry bout my car being completely gone... maybee some accessories but im good with a motor and trans

Steve, you have any links to the remote starts made for a manual? I wasnt aware that they made them for sticks, not that I am looking for one.. just wanted to know.
Edit: if by *designed* you meant "customized to work with".. I guess they would do that aswell, but im guessing that remote start would get kinda pricey.

But yeah, if you didnt buy an alarm, the best bet is anything by DEI. But, you must remember that a cheap wal-mart alarm can be more protective than a top of the line alarm. Its all about the install, and the installer... dont want a sketchy installer jacking your car with a 3rd remote he programmed. So search around, and get prices, then get prices of stuff online. Sometimes its easier to just pay extra and get the parts from the place where it will be installed since then they dont have the excuse of "it didnt come with that part."
