I'd like to do the manumatic thing like cokinut did, but the Sports Mode button is holding me back. How is the Sports Mode button setup inside the gear shift? And could I simply run the wires outside the center console to a new switch?

yeah its a simple switch sent my car to the paint guy today but when it gets back if no one else has done it ill show you a few pics of mine now on the dash

i did this wen i installed a new shifter.
its simple really. find a switch i got one from radio shack, a flip switch. or u can use the same switch. remove the shifter cover then remove the shifter itself but removin the 2 screws. then pop the shifter button out, watch outfor the spring. oh yea, u gotto pop off the Sports mode switch cover to get to th the smalls screws that hold it in place, remove those and it'll be loose. ok now pull the switch and u'll see the wires connected to it. cut them but give urself some slack incase u want to get it back to normal. ok now u can slide the shifter right off and u'll have the metal shafta sittin there. i would reommend gettin a new shifter hehe, cause i dunno wat exactly u want to do. but anyways after that find where the switch wire comes out from the bottom then u'll be able to splice some wires and relocate the switch where-ever u want. i would show u pics of my set-up but my dig. cam is crap, i might try takin some pics 2moro for ya. ...hopefully i helped u somewhat, oh yea gimme a link to wat the other guy did.Comment
