well the harness can always be made longer nothing hard. as for the mounts no clue but still should be easy with a little thinking.

you are going to have to make a custom "face-plate" if you will...something that the deck can mount to, also, if you can keep the mounting face behind the a/c controls, and make that work, it will look much cleaner, like from the factory...i think that you should stick with something black, or the dash color, or even the exterior color of your car..any of those would look good...the key to making it look good, is to make it noticeable to the trained eye, but not obvious, then it wont look that good! subtle-looking stuff will look the best, especially to the ppl on this site! i wanna see some pics, keep us updated..

as someone else has said..yes it has been done..and yes i want to do it..but due to lack of time and as it seems no one to give much advice on it has held me back..idk how the cd player/radio deck will slide in becasue there isn't much where the ac controls are to support the weight..but to know for sure i would have to take my dash apart..again.....but this may happen soon

well bad news guys.. i was not able to do the swap. I removed the panel and the radio and the ac/heater .. everything seemed to be going well so far. i pulled my wires through (radio wires up.. ac/heating wires down) and plugged in my deck and mock placed it into place. that's were the problem came. the Air Vent ducts go down right behind where the AC/heater panel would be (where i want to stick my radio at)... the Radio deck is too long and sticks out about an inch and a half. freqin sux! .a possible way to mount it there would be to angle the deck upwards a bit. but that's a whole lot of more work than i wanted to do.

So i just looked around and poked around the inside panels to see what else can be done. Well, i think if someone was daring enough they could just cut the air ducts(which are square plastic tubes, if anyone was wondering) and attach household alluminum ducts back there so air still flows out of the air vents, also allowing room for the new deck placement. No one's ever gonna see it.. and as long as components function, its fine right? .. lol

well i might just be doing that later in the future... i'll be taking a plastics manufacturing class. and we're gonna get to mold crap out of plastic.. maybe i'll get the chance to mold a custom panel.. we'll see. thanks for all the input everyone .. and one day i shall do this and put my cup holders to use!

would you happen to know the depth from the front to where the vents are?

i dont' know exactly, i would say about 6 inches or so? .. now that i think about it.. clearance is fine for the deck.. it's all the wiring behind the deck that keeps it from fiting in .. hmmm now that changes alot .. wiring can be changed to fit properly. or the vents could be cut so the wires have clearance.. and just seal that sucker up later . .. getting creative here

i dont have a camera but... i did something similar and put the deck where the vents are... im sure i seen someone else here with the same setup... go to walmart and buy urself a mounting kit .. theres one in particular that fits pretty well lengthwise... its for sum sorta truck... ?? ull need to cut and fiberglass the center console trim thing to get it lookin nice... what i did was cut the vents and cut some cardboard to make the shape of a new vent .... wrapped it in wax paper and then moulded some..... really small vents... if you dont care about those vents i suppose you could just block them with a plate .. with the space where the deck was i put myself a 8" center speaker... (lots of cuttin and mouldin..) ill try gettin sum pics

                  **edit**
make sure you support the deck by more than the front portion.... or ull skip like a mofukka.. i would kno
