    XM radio VS Sirius

I've had XM for a few months now, but I'm thinking about switching to Sirius.
I was wondering if anyone has listened to both, and which one they like better and why.

What I don't like about XM radio:

Only one halfway decent rock station---Squizz. Squizz plays modern rock or hard alternative, whatever you call it. But there is no station that plays hard rock/death/thrash metal. The only one that comes close is The Boneyard, but they mostly play the old style metal from the 80's, early 90's.....mostly crap in my opinion.

The rap stations (2), aren't very good. One plays old school rap, but not the rap I remember. The other one plays modern rap, but you don't hear the hits very often.

I hear better rap/rock on the local radio stations here, but then I have to put up with commercials.

I will say that the BPM and The System channels are pretty tight though.

How is sirius for rock and rap music???????

I've heard more bad then good about XM.

I  my sirius radio. The stations are awesome. This is someone who always has and always will HATE radio, i just can't stand it. I can't get enough of my sirius though, the variety is very good.

i have sirius myself and was offered an xm unit for free at work and didn't want it lol. Sirius has some good rock stations and really good rap stations, defintely switch to serious, wait for the Sirius S50 model to come out though, its portable allows you to record your sirius programming on it and listen to it on the go, plus its bad ass.

I do home audio/car audio install for a living and in my opinion xm has better over all sound quality. Sirus has good programs but so does xm, but the sirius units just don't sound as clean even with the direct units(alpine, kenwood, pioneer etc.).

Both, because of O&A and Howard Stern.

another reason i picked Sirius was because it has a very long contract with the NHL and the NFL.

Uhhg. Now my decision is more difficult. I also have the $40 unit, as someone else said. And it's plugs into the accessory input hole on my stereo which is supposed to give the best sound. Only problem is, I get this annoying frequency buzz that matches my RPM's when I'm driving. I was going to take it back to best buy for repair, but I waited more than the 30 days. Now the noise is getting worse.

XM channels are now on direct TV.
