Get a decent amp then . Anyhow the better sound question. 1 sub or two subs. It really depends on how much each sub can handle. 2 subs will probably be louder than 1, but theoretically doubling cone area has the same effect as doubling power to one of the subs. I would Just get two subs that are rated at 600 watts rms. I'd look at some IDQs for the best sound.

well what i meant was that the amp is going to be putting 1500 rms but not 2 each woffer but the amp in general if its really rated at what is says, so in general you wuold be getting 750 to each woffer. so i did fuck up sorry.

i dont know yet...but im leaning to power aucstick...i had them once and I beat the hell out of them and still work...plus there pretty cheap with the rms that i need....i have 500 limit...but 300 is going to the HU..so about 200 to buy subs...

I would avoid power acoustic if you are going for sound quality...

It's gonna be hard to find a decent quality set of subs with only $200, but as far as the deck goes, you can find a hell of a lot of them (decent) within the $200 range, so that leaves u wit another $100 to put toward the subs. Jus my lil .02 cents

Its gonna be a lil hard for me to say. I've only had personal experiences with Pioneer Premier, Alpine Type R (had 4 of them in da wip ), and Phoenix Gold. They all sounded damn good to me, but will b a lil outta ur price range. Maybe some of the other members can help u out as far as what type of subs u should get cuz I've only been able to tell u about the 3 types that I had

found some type r for 129 each...500 rms i figure if I wire so that i have a 2 ohm load...i could get 2 alpine at 500 rms each and that would go perfect with my amp which is 1000 rms at 2 ohm

Are the alpines 4 ohm single voice coil, or dual voice coil?? If they are dvc, then I only know of 2 ways to wire them, and u will either have a 4 ohm load or a 1 ohm load on the 1 channel amp. If single 4 ohm voice coil subs, then you will have a 2 ohm load on the amp.
But Alpine, IMO, are damn good subs

its all good...if you put IMO (in my opinion) then no one can gripe that you said an opinion...i just get irritated when people come in the car audio forum or whatever and start bashing good brands and/or promoting sucky brands...thats where it really bugs me...

If you have an amp that is capable of producing 1500w @ 1 ohm and you paralell each of your subs coils into a 2 ohm load then hook the subs in paralell then youll have 1ohm load impedence from your subs, so then they would recieve 1500w! Each of the subs would get 375w per coil! There are amps out there that will do this and more, but youll need the charging system also! Peace!

                                WaC!
