I'm going with one of Apline's head units, not sure which at the moment. And I already have the door speakers, so just looking for a sub that won't explode the next day but isn't $500... I'm not up to date with all the brands so pretty much whatever is mentioned here i'll probably end up going with. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Have an amp? I recommend going to the package deal section on this site.

Not sure, but I believe some of the drivers are on backorder so you may want to call first though. Otherwise you can find a plethora of speakers being sold and amps for decent prices on forums like www.icixsound.com or www.elitecaraudio.com or even www.caraudioforum.com

Went to that link... have no idea what any of those options means. I don't have an amp yet either. I just looking for a nice sounding sub. Not really interested in being the loudest on the block or anything, just something to play music and not sound like garbage. As far as price range, I can't go all out and get best quality out there, but something nice that won't burn through the savings. Since I forgot about the amp and have to throw that into the budget, i'll say $200 total for sub and amp? Not sure if thats enough for decent quality but I can' work it a little if theres something a little more expensive but nice sounding.

you are cutting it really close for only 200 dollars. Dont forget there is also the wiring kit needed, and possibly a capacitor depending on how many watts you are running. also what kind of deck do you have now? are the speakers stock? to put subs in the car(unless you go to walmart) you are looking at around 400 bucks plus. Try getting a job at best buy for the holidays. They have killer employee discounts and then you can get a sweet setup for cheap. otherwise for 200 bucks I would say walmart with lightning audio or sony. Not bad but there is definetly more out there. No longer working on the cb. To much time and money has been put into it. Check my for sale thread where the whole car will be parted out.

i would suggest a 12" Cadence Wild Beast sub for following reasons ...
1. great base response
2. crisp bass
3. you could get a very good deal on it
4. hits hard a s f**k lol
i used a DB meter to test this cadence vs a 2004 W7, and it was only 2 decibels lower then th W7 keeping all other variables the same such as settings, vol, eq, amp.h23a3 cb7 turbo sold

263 and no wiring will get you a good amp and a good 8" sub. Build your own box and get your own wiring.
Otherwise you can try for profile amplifiers... Look around on ebay at those. You can get some decent power from them. If you need help let me know.
I went ahead and threw together a system more in your budget.

i suggest lookin into Resonant Engineering's RE Series subs...they are great subs, even for the price...i will get the price list off of another site really fast..
RE8- $56
RE10- $66
RE12- $76
voila...and they only need 175w RMS, so it wont break the bank to power those either...plus for the price, you can get two of them...but you will have to wait longer and save up for the amp...cant get two and an amp..
however, even one would be better than nothing...and for the entry-level price, those subs really perform outstanding...
you would want a 350wRMS amp to go with them, or a 175wRMS or so to go with one of them
they are dual 4 ohm subs, and the RMS requirements for 8", 10", and 12" subs are all the same..someone else will have to give you an example of what amp to use, im not that great with all that ohm stuff.....it gets too complicated for me...
