Most any tweeter will come with up to three ways to mount them: flush, surface mount or surface mount angled.
For flush mount you'll need about an inch (maybe less) of space behind the door panel, and be brave enough of course to cut a hole you can't later patch up ... just check with what speakers you may be considering for requirements.
Additionally, for a clean look you should consider paint-matching the tweeters to your door panel if you want them to blend in, or at least an attractive contrasting color unless your car already has black door panels.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

either put them in your A-pillar, which is risky cause of fitment and all that im assuming, or do as most do, and either flush mount, or angle mount the tweet on the door panel in front of the door handle...like on that bulging out piece that is made of vinyl or w/e...that looks great, and sounds good as well...

I'm a OLD School Pro Hence the Name SPL KID . You can Mount your tweeters in your outside airvents and keep them hidden at the same time. It will help your sound project from them but.... of course there's a but, your center stage will be poor. Just drill a small wire hole in the vent area and use the mounting equipment provided in the kit.
Warning this may take a little modifing to the drivers vent (pulling out the vent flap). It is replaceable, the passengers side should need no modding and should operate the same with the tweeter in that area if placed correctly.
Good Luck will get a picture of the install on my buddies wagon later today for example.

here's my flush tweets
I literally got a pen, traced the contour, took a soldering gun (pointy tip) and punched a bunch of perforated holes around the contour, and pushed through.
You work with what you got :P
If you aren't as bold as to perform such blasphemy to your CB7's door panel, use an exacto-knife or razor blade. Or do as others mention

yes, but if you are an audiophile...highs are extremely directional....your angle mounts are vital for the best SQ...Last edited by mondojackal; 11-03-2005, 08:13 PM.
