    LCD screen

i wanted to install a lcd screen in my car but i dont know where to put it... i dont want to relocate heater knobs ect.... so if i put it where the deck is it wont be visable (so i've heard)... should i put it on an angle where the ashtray, cupholder, cig lighter is?

I know you dont want to...
but id say the best way to do it is to move the heater/ac knobs -
that way it still looks semi-stock..
you could probably just switch the screen/HU with the knobs
good luck,, show the results when you finally decide

How would you move the a/c knobs and stuff. Isnt there a bar of some sort at the back of it that controls the direction of air flow? I want to do the samething, but I'm thinking of building a fiberglass center console to relocate everything. I'm not sure yet tho, just contemplating all the possibilities.

          mmmmmmmmmmmmmm....... DOHC

i remember there is a guy on this board who had his whole a/c knobs and buttons and all that relocated. a custom shop did it and it was sick. he doesn't post much on here he is a memeber of this site. wish i could tell u more. i know he had the knobs relocated down by the ash tray or something and he had the center console part like how the 5th gens have and had the buttons in there. it was tight i liked how they did it.

i'm facing the same dilema. i really want there to be a simple solution that will look good, but let's face it, the cb7s have an ugly, unaccomodating dash design when it comes to customization. i've got a touchscreen carPC setup ready to go, but i can't decide what to do about the install.

i think relocation/rebuilding is the only solution for a clean looking install that is viewable from the driver's seat. this is not how i wanted to learn to fiberglass.

I saw someone with a TV right on top of the dash...that might be the best way to go. I don't think you'd have to cut anything besides holes for wires. What about a gooseneck on the passenger's side?

wow that 2nd pic with the 5th gen center console is pretty damn slick. only thing is that it doesn't look like it match's but still damn smart.

i heard this one guy did something like this.

only now, the bracket is hidden as it slides all the way down it, and the wire is hidden and runs behind the stereo and heater/ac controls and out the hole where the oem fog light switch is. its fully removable, and hooks up with one wire now. Also, for storage, i removed the cup holder and it fits in there very nicely. I'll get some new pics here someday.

ok guys.. i got a 7 inch widescreen for the car and its time for mounting.... i was thinking to mount it like chessboxer... there is a space between the two vents in the front... can i mount it to there AND put all the wires in there as well (S video wire, red yellow white wires and power wire) i dont think they will all fit... If anyone has any suggests please let me know because i am confused myself on how to start this project.

                              Thanx guys
