cd player skipping + pos mout idea...

ok so i hope we would all agree that the way we have to mount our cdplayers is slightly retarted... well mine skips . ALOT anyone have any ideas on how to fix this besides using a laser disk cleaner thing that are relatively cheap. thanks

what brand is it? my old boss one used to skip and i got a eclipse now i got no problems. if its a cheap brand thats most likely why.

the brand is DUAL it was 180 new

thats most likely your problem, ive had one of those before.
however if you think your dash kit is not tight enought, pull it out and attach a peice of thin metal to it and screw the metal into something behind the radio. did it to mine.

try a BRAND new cd if you got the cash?? i remember alot of my cds would skipp, but they were just scratched... could just be the player too

yea, my cd player skips alot.. now granted its an old (2-3 year old) alpine, its as secure as it can get, but everytime i hit a little bump it will pause for a few seconds.. radio works great though hehe.

get another deck, them cheap decks look like shit and work like shit.

spend the 140 for the new one...in the meantime, get a factory unit with a cd player or just sit with what you got.
