radar detectors?

I have a valentine one it has saved me multiple times, what helps is that it tells u what direction the radar is coming from, but remember if a cop doesnt have his radar on no radar detector will work, i had one cop speed match me coming back from the last MD meet i ended up being the last cb7 in line doing around 90 did he pull me over no but i was shitting my pants when i saw the clear red lights on top of the car.

actully, flaccopower, if you're down here in MD, there isnt much you can do with a radar detector, Welcome, our state troopers and deputy sherrif's like MANY other states have switched over to Laser Targeted Speed Detection, LASER, as you may already know is a Line Of Sight based targeting, so unlike radar you cant pick this up waay ahead before your line of sight. even though people swear by it that many of these have saved them a lot, its actully very questionable, if their radar detector went off they're only picking up the actual radio's functioning in the police vehicles, why i know this, because i washed too many cop cars and played around too much in the state trooper baracks, in st. mary's down here where i played with my "RADAR DETECTOR EQUIPPED WITH *NEW* LASER DETECTION" ...yea its just a gimmick, by the time your laser detection goes off, look up and hes rite there..and you're already fucked....

now it has been proven to pick up deflected laser signals off of materials which MAY deflect a laser signal, now this is VERY VERY MINUTE and VERY VERY rare, its literally like a mirror bouncing off the laser from somewhere and your detector picking it up, so in my opinion keeping in mind the new Laser Technology in the hands of all police offers doenst give us a big enough margin for escape.

Where there is detection, there is always evasion, Welcome to the world of Radar/ Laser Jamming. This is the new game and i'm very much into this. Radar Jammers are banned and illegal in almost every state, but Laser jammers are YET to be approved by the FDA, so they're still legal in most parts, now these are the MOST EFFECTIVE, and i've read up a LOT on these, and they do work, they cost a lot but they will jam the laser signals emmited from the laser guns and preven from the laser bouncing off you and returning to the gun with an accurate speed measure. Also i'd suggest getting a scanner just in case you wanted to keep the police movements but thats also only so accurate...just my 0.2c

o yea, forget that passive jamming shit, tin foils, and jamming licence plates....that crap has never worked..

i have a whistler radar detector, and it works awesome. I've gotten out of nearly 5 tickets since i got it a week ago. it picks up all signals, laser and any others and has tons of options. i highly recommend it

hmm interesting.

to clear some things up.
the fcc has regins over radar. they control and have say on like radio. they control and manage things like that. thats why radar jammers are illegal. plus jamming a radar signal takes a ton of energy so most radar jammers that say they work dont. laser is controlled by the fda. food and drug administration so laser jammers arent illegal. i have a beltronics one its comperable to the escort 8500, but with voice alerts. i dont use it much. alot of false alarms in the city even in city mode. it sits in the box jammed under the seat. i just drive like an asshole anymore.
