is there a relay for the starter motor to begin with ?! I am chasing a power problem, I installed solid 25mm ground cables so that rules out grounding from the equation.

Well. The manual says its under the dash, driver side, but from searching around you're not the only one who can't find this. Take a look up by the main relay and look for a plug with wires:

BLK-WHT
BLK-WHT
BLK-GRN
BLK

According to the manual these are the wires (without security/manual transmission).

Auto or manual?

Autos don't have a relay.

Manuals have one. The manual relay is described as being in the center of the dash, but the diagram shows in the left corner.
