Here is the problem I am experiencing...
I was vacumming my trunk yesterday and when I pulled the carpet in my trunk the subwoofer moved with it and the two (-/+) wires pulled out from the amp.
I saw it and I went back to put them back into place. However after I started up my car the subwoofer started hitting hard, a constant Booooom, Booooom, Booooom. Turned off car, re-checked wiring and turned car on again. Same thing, booooom, booooom, booooom. I thought maybe my amp died so I went to wal-mart and bought a cheap Dual 400W amp to test to check and now the booming went away but however the a new problem below...
NOW with the Dual Amp, when I plug in the RCA cable the subwoofer hums, deep toned static noises? Even if I put only one RCA cable in it hums right away. My ground is fine, it's the bolt behind rear passenger seat, plenty of contact. I do have both my power from battery and rca's running on same side of car, but that isn't the problem since the sub was working fine literally just before this all happened. I''ve had my sub along with the amp, perfectly paired and working for at least 6+ months, and all I did was move the carpet and accidentally made sub tug the negative and positive wire out. What the hell happened? Lol.
