my setup is nice but it takes away the use of the footrest. i'll say its a small substitute for an awesome sounding system.
Alpine Type S 5.25 components in Q-Logic Kickpanel Enclosures, Alpine Type R 6x9's in rear, powered by an Alpine 40Wx4 amp
I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one running enclosures.

Rice or not. Cb7's will never die.

I have Polks' all around--LX 6.5"s. I wanted speakers that could accurately handle the stock HU. That is, some speakers need more RMS power that comes from an aftermarket HU to properly sound as they should.

Pioneer 3-ways in the door. Poineer 4-ways in the rear.

the ones in the back sound a world better, but they're too deep for the doors.

Wouldn't you be grounding the speaker if you do that? Since the metal you are drilling have a ground connection and the back of your speaker is metal???

I have Goldwood "6.5's" (they're really like 7", I had to make custom cardboard spacers to keep them out of the window's way...I'll really fix it w/spacers later) with Audiobahn tweets in front, and 2002 Nissan Altima 6x9's in the back. The Altima woofers are louder than they should be as they're 2ohms vs. the regular 4, so they're like 4x louder than the front, but that's nothing a little resistor can't fix. I have this all running off the stock HU, and it sounds pretty good...should be excellent by the time I get my CD/MP3 head unit.

I have Pioneer 3-ways in the rear and they sound real good. I have sony X-plods up front and they sound raspy as hell! I think cutting the oem plastic inclosures to get them fitted affected how the sound travels in the door coz seriously...my stock speakers sounded better than those x-plods!
I need a custom turbo manifold built....
