    92 EX Speakers

    I've been reading past threads, but I cant seem to find the answer I'm looking for, so I'll start up a new one:

    Last week, a door speaker on my 92 EX went out. So I want to put a new set in (component if the $ can work our right). So I have two really stupid questions for ya'll.

    1. What in the hell size speakers are in the 92 EX? Crutchfield lists them as a 5' in the front and a 6x9' in the rear. I know this at least is not true for the rear, because whatever it is its round... So what are my stock speaker sizes?

    2. This afternoon, I figured "screw it", I'll just take off the panels and measure the things. Yeah, right. According to my Haynes Repair Manual, there is a single screw holding the door panel on. I can't seem to find that screw...

    Any help with either of these questions would be really appreciated, as well as advice for some new speakers! If you wondering, I have a Blaupunkt MP3000 head in the car right now...

    I saw that. Haynes is dead wrong on this one. So are all the speakers 5 1/4's?

      The stickie said that the front is 5 1/4's, but dosn't mention the back. The back looks like 5/4's by looking at it.

      Anyone know?

              And does anyone know the depth in the front?

                Q- what size are the front speakers?
                A- DX/LX= 6.5" EX/SE= 5"

                Q- What's the maximum depth my fornt speakers can be?
                A- 2-1/8"

                Q- What size are the rear speakers?
                A- DX/LX= 6.5" EX/SE= 6x9"

                  Then the FAQ is wrong. My rear speakers are stock, and they are ROUND, as in CIRCLE. 6x9's are like ovular (is that a word?)

                  I'm still thinking they're all 5.25's.

                      Unless some was changed the rears should be 6x9's.

                      The front is a confusing issue. What I know about the EX model is that the speakers that fit inside the enclosure are 4 inchers. The opening in the door I believe is 5.25, and a 6.5 will fit with an adapter.

                        yeap.. and if ur in canada and u have a ex lx dx.. ur gonna have all around 6.5's ..only ex-r's / SE's have 6x9 in the back..im just thinkin u mite be in canada and think ur ex is a ex-r.. tee hee..

                          It'd be cool if Honda could just put the same size in all the cars. But where would the fun be in that?

                          I'm gonna just have to check them. I'll post my findings and measurements for future reference...
