am going to build a box for my wagon looking for some good hard bass i want it to be heard blocks away
    L34 W34 H15

Too vague a question. We need more details.
How many subs do you want and what size?
Available amplifier power and lowest stable impedance?
Box tuning? Do you want a flat response(not as loud but sounds better? or a peaky response(louder but not as musically correct)
You need to kill rattles and unnecessary flex. Is sound deadening in your budget?
What kind of music will you be playing?

8 cubes is a rather large box... You'd probably need 3 or 4 subs to make it sound right...

And if you're not willing to spend 300 bucks per sub, you're probably not gonna get anything of too much quality that's new... Based on your "needs" I'd advise you get the cheapest stuff walmart can provide you with.

          Fixed.

Bro...why do you use "an" in place of "a"? I don't mean to be rude, but it's been buggin' the shit outa me for a while! lol

Anyways, my .02 is this: I'd check craigslist for a sweet deal on a couple 12's or 3-4 10's and build a smaller ported box to fit them and spend the real money on the amp to make it really bump.

I have a single 12" MTX Thunder series 6500 in a ported box tuned to 33mhz to make the low lows really resonate. It's not crazy, but it is more than loud enough for me. I don't want to roll around wearing earplugs...

If you really want to compete, i think SPL has the info you need. But you gotta think about how often you'll use all that equipment at peak power. You may be wasting your money on an over-powered system if it is for daily use. but if you are competing, then i guess balls-to-the-wall is the only way to go..

One of my buddies put a Death Pen 18 with a bad voice coil that was at his audio shop, in a 10 cube ported box and stuck it in his Honda Fit on a PDX 1.1000 for a dB drag,

We were hitting 145dB on the dash lol

we were flexing and breakin everything.... and blowing lots of fuses on the amp from the bad coil.

Incriminator, FI and Sound Solution are my fav sub manufacturers

at that price one might be a good choice, then you could get away with 1 sub rather than 2 at less than 300 each..

The infinity reference series has always been a very good subwoofer in my opinion. I've had several but I always hand it down for some reason after a year or two. But as long as you take the time to break them in properly they can last a long time. My favorite part about them is their ability to handle different ranges of amps. It sounded good with a 300watt max amplifier hooked up, better with a 600, and amazing with a 1000 watt amp hooked up. So it's really flexible. Compared to the various mtx and american bass subs I've had, it smokes them.
Being normal is probably the lamest thing you can try to be

most well built subs are like that. very efficient. Digi Designs, FI, incriminator and ssa are all subs that i've owned that i found very efficient. 1000w rms sub will still beat down the door on 3-400w rms and can handle more. I ran my old Planet Audio Zetar z-10 (which is rated for 350w rms) on every bit of 1000w rms and it took it like a champ. i tried to blow that sub on 1000w and couldnt. It's 10 years old now and still thumps like a champion in my buddy's EF civic on 500w.

i think that Incriminator sale is a perfect opportunity. a single death pen 12 can do high 140s in a well tuned box, easily. dont even need 2 subs if you get 1 really nice sub. the death rows are very close on par to the FI BL and the SSA Icon. which i've seen single 12's make low 140s in a nice box on 1000w
