viper and clifford are both good ...but comparing the two...clifford is the best..had the clifford matrix in my suburban...it did a whole lot more than vipers....but it all depends on wut u want to do with the alarm and stuff...

i would have to say all alarms are useless if not installed by a good installer. i would personally go with any dei products or compustar.

I got a Prestige with the paging remote. Personally I love it. It has saved my car from 3 brake in attempts.

2 way autopage owns viper. clifford paging ones are very good but pricey.
instead of just saying one ove rnaother , here is what i based my deicision on and not just a name or brand.
                      1. what you get for what you pay!
                      2. friends whose alarms you can play around with live.
                      3. what local shops suggested
                      4. availability of extra sensors , modules and other add-ons.

and finally u gotta love to be able to remote start ur car from the movie theater 5 minutes before the movie ends when its 25 degrees outside.

Another thing you have to look at is who is going to install the alarm because when you got to a shop the give u a price for an alarm installed. proffesinal in stall costs more then alarm itself. example:
Autopage 720 LCD installed by a decent shop 450 $
Autopage 720 LCD cost 138$ shipped brand new.
i did mine by my self its not extremely hard but if you have never done wiring, soldering and wire tapping this is not the thing to learn on. hope my input helped.

Those are some good points, but I think that Compustar owns all. Of course that particular alarm you can only get it installed by a authorized dealership, and even though you can buy it in the black market, the warranty will not be honored if not installed by an authorized dealer.
