    6 cd changer help

I need help guys, I'm completely stumped on this. As some of you may know I have a 93 SE. It came w/ the 6 cd changer, but didn't have the magazine....until today. To my great joy, my local dealership ws able to get ahold of one and sell it to me. So after getting back to my house from the dealership, I test it out. I put 6-cd's of varying types (i.e. burned, original, copied, etc.) and slid the magazine into place. Nothin happened. A quick gander through my rear window revealed a message on my radio the said E-OS or 05 or something. I eject the cartridge and notice that while it's ejecting it sounds and looks like it's trying to load something. But how can that be If I just hit the eject button? I put it back in and decide to go for a drive. I thought well, I didn't think, I just wanted to drive thinking that maybe it would work w/ the car in motion. Again, not sure why this seemed like it would fix anything. Anyway I get the same message while I'm driving and get back to my house to find that the cartridge has been somewhat ejected.

    Abriged version:
    1. got cd changer and tried to use it to no avail.
    2. nothing moves when I put the cartridge in.
    3. stuff moves when I push eject.
    4. ejects at random times.
    5. Have message E-OS or E-O5 displayed when selected to CD on stock honda BOSE headunit.
    6. CD changer came w/ car as an extra option and has been there for the life of the car.

Some help, any help would be unfathomably appreciated. I'm losing my mind listening to morning talk-radio

Old school cd changers/players usually do not handle burned cd's that good, just regular cd's. Anyway since the mechanism has not been used in a while most likely the grease that goes in the gear mechanism may have dried out and the mechanism may be getting stuck. You can't never really tell without opening it up, but I know that when something mechanical is not used for a whie the mechanism will get stuck.

It would be wise to have it bench tested, but that may get pricey.

hmm, some cd changers require the disk be flipped upside down, have you tried placing them in the opposite way they are now?

          *update*

I was messing around w/ it yesterday and actually got it to suck a CD in. But then my radio said E-01, and it wouldn't eject the disc or the cartridge. So after removing the changer and disconnecting it (I swear the manufacturer tack welded those damn screws in ) I took it inside and played w/ it. I got it to slowly put my CD back, but then I heard a pop. Keep in mind there is no power running to it. After more fiddling, I finally get the cartridge to eject with the CD in it. Except now my precious pink floyd CD has a crack on it's edge. So I'm just gonna take it to a repair shop and have them mess w/ it. I think that some wire is not connected or maybe that big ass lithium cell battery on the chip is out of juice, idk... We'll see what happens. I'll keep y'all updated. Thanks to those who responded, BTW.
