    Crunch P5000.5 5-Channel

    Im a total newb when it comes to car audio, and although i love the guys at my local audio shop, i think they love my wallet even more.

    Right now i have NO head unit, nor do i want one thats why i got the Crunch 5Ch, so i got the Bass and Volume Remotes wired up to it and it runs directly from the RCA's to 3.5mm

    I have it wired to the OEM 6x9 and some cheap-o 6" fronts since i didn't have any.

    Here are the AMP's specs
    # PowerZone Series 5-Channel AB Car Amplifier
    # RMS Power Rating:
    * 4 ohms: 62.5 watts x 4 chan. + 150 x 1
    * 2 ohms: 100 watts x 4 chan. + 250 x 1
    # Dynamic (Peak) Power Rating:
    * 4 ohms: 125 watts x 4 chan. + 300 x 1
    * 2 ohms: 200 watts x 4 chan. + 500 x 1
    # Max Power Output: 1300 watts

    now i have an MTX Terminator 12" running 150w at 4 ohms (lowest setting)

    i was wondering what all speakers and subs do you guys recommend, i love Kicker's, has 12" Comps with a 600w Kenwood on my last car.
    Frankly i dont give two flying fucks if you can feel the base outside, after all im the one listening to the music, not them. i just want crisp clean highs and mids and some deep lows.

    well there is 2 flaws 2 your logic your going to need a eq or hu or oem prosseser or your gonna clip the shit out of your speakers. 2 if u like kicker i hear the cvrs get loud and sound niceer then the comps. if u wanna build some subs hit me up i got some motors and baskets to build some alpines

      What I think makes a hell of a difference for a good clean sound cause I dropped some $ into a sound system before I got into performance parts is have a separate amp(s) for your sub(s) and a another amp just for your speakers and deck. Overall, I'm pretty sure you'll get what your looking for as far as some good lows, yet crisp mids and highs so you can actually hear the lyrics clearly and have some thump in your trunk.

        if you want nice crisp highs and mids. infinity kappas. get 6x9 for the back 6 for the front. they have built in crossovers with tweeters.

          infinties are good drop ins. Not the best but certainly not the worst.
          If you use an MP3 player Your gains are going to be probable more than 3/4 of the way up and you may have alot of noise in your system. I would recommend a line driver if you go that route.

            the system is already set up in the CB, it looks like they hooked up the AMP to the harness for the deck

            i have a volume and a bass remotes for the AMP so it dont take in the ipod at full blast and blow the shit out of my speakers, it sounds pretty good, but of course its not tuned all the way up since the 6" and 6x9's cant take it.
            my guess from the specs is that i need 100-200w 2ohm speakers right? if so i was just wondering what would be the best bang for the buck that wont break my wallet

              Directly to the harness?? It's not a separate power and ground wire for the amp?

                  You should fab up a block off plate to cover up that hole in the dash. It would be cool. ha.

                        so i decided to get rid of the crunch, im just in a bit of a pickle, i either need a good `quality 5-channel, or a way to split a 4-channel and a mono block...

                          If you're looking for a good amp; JL Audio, Kicker, Helix, Focal, Diamond Audio, Orion, Rainbow, Xtant, Infinity Kappa, MMATS, Alpine, Cadence, Directed, MTX, Phoenix Gold (older 90s), Polk etc

                          As for speakers, if you can find an affordable set of Focal or Rainbow components...well, my friend, you will be in heaven...

                            i was looking at the kickers, the 400.4 and 250.1 since i don't have a head unit, but i was wondering if i could just split channels 3 and 4 into the mono block since right now my AMP is driving at 4-channel mode taking the base input from those two channels, i have two RCA Y connectors (female to two males) that i could split the line but my main problem is that i don't want to have the audio quality go to shit

                            BTW i sold the MTX Terminator and got a Hertz ES250.4D 10" sub 4+4ohm @ 250W its hits good enough for my kind of music and clear as hell, plus its dual voice coil so i have it mounted on a small box

                              i have customers try what u tryna do all the time. 1st problem......crunch. if u wur tryna do all this with alpine polk etc then i would look past it. 2nd problem.....oem speakers. the only time i hook up oem speakers to a amp is to blow em out and c how much they can handle. your better off hooking up a 20dollar used deck with a 69dollar 2ch amp. and just run your speakers off your deck. dont get me wrong crunch is ok for the price. but not for the vocals.
