Good double DIN headunit? Also whats the deal w/hi-lo converters

I want a double DIN headunit with an OEM look...

I'm thinkin of the Panasonic CQ-5800U



Thing is it has no fucking pre outs at all. I think it's a Mazda h/u debranded.

Next up I'm thinkin a cheapish DVD unit. Jensen or maybe Panasonic, or something better used.

Anyways if I took the cheap route and got the Panasonic regular stereo would I lose a lot through the high low converters? I had them in my 1st CB and the music sounded incredibly crisp. I'm gonna run a 4ch and just inside speakers. Thoughts???

Thing with that is those have so-so sound quality, usually no MP3 input and def. no pre outs... plus they cost the same as a basic aftermarket unit w/all the features I need. I thought about that too and passed.
