Best Headunit brands

I have an alpine, and really want to get another one, looking for an mp3 deck. The only thing that is really turning me away is the stupid huge remote that they have. Every other brand w/a remote is very small and nice, and then there is Alpine w/a remote that looks like its for a tv. I think the remote helps a lot at keeping your eyes on the road when you go to mess w/the stereo especially since you dont have to reach for the headunit.

ANYWAYS

what is a good reliable, and nice looking headunit that has a nice remote that always works? The looks of Alpines HU's are great, I just really cant stand the remote. I am also looking in the 2-500 range.. so pretty much everything.

how much are u willing to spend? cus u can get a sweet pioneer DVD player for $404. It doesn't have the built in screen but u can always add one if u ever feel like it..its the Pioneer DVH-P5000MP

Get Alpine. It's the best out there. The CDS-9831 is a nice HU. It plays mp3's wma's, and some other compressed files. Plus, the remote is tiny.

any pics of the remote.. all i have ever seen is the big one. Again, the only thing i have wrong w/alpine is the remote... but since i use it a lot.. i need one that i like :-P

I was looking at the CDA-9815.. i want a blue display instead of the green since my car has blue interior.

HU looks nice.. but that is the remote i hate. If you have ever seen a different brands remote, theirs is like 3 credit cards on top of each other. I have a TV remote that is smaller than the alpine remote. And plus my alpine one died.

thats what i thought. I think i may just have to suck it up and hope they can get a new remote released sometime soon.

in my opinion pioneer deh-p6600 or better the 7600 are very good. it has everything. build in equalizers. subb control etc.

my friend just got a new one. and he has a 300watt amp conected to the subb only. and he has stock accord speakers. u won't belive how clear the sound comes fromt he stock speakers and the deep bass that comes from the 2 10" subbs in the back.

i agree. i completely forgot to mention eclipse....the best ever is denon though...but why would u drop 2g's on a headunit that is already hard to find.

6600 and 7600 they look the same only for some small differences. if u buy them brand new in a store they cost about $380. but on e bay u can get them for $200.
