if anyone wants a good component set, get some lotus reference. very transparent and has very good clarity. one of the best set made today. only about 650 or 700 for the 2-way. if u have $$ to dish out, get these. Tuning is required to get them to their full potential though.

i ended up getting 6X9 pioneers in the back and alpine type R speakers in the front, on top of the two 12" panasonic subs in the trunk. they sound really good and piss off all the neighbors!!

I have a 92 LX (6.5 all the way around). I still have the factory system and wanted to replace the fronts with some Kenwood KFC-1789ie that I saw at Best Buy. Does anyone know for sure if they will fit the door. I know that the KFC-1689 will fit but I really like the oversized woofer of the other one.

Well Shehzada, like i said, i bought new 6.5 alpine type R's for the front. putting them in was a nightmare. the speakers didn't fit into the stock spacers, so we ended up having to cut a block of wood (ghetto, i know) and put one on the top and one on the bottom just to be able to put the speakers in. i have a DX if that makes any at all difference...

I have always been a big fan of polk audio equipment. I currently have polk speakers in the front and looking into getting some polk db 6x9's for the rear.

Do you have the Polk DB-650 series all around? I just bought two DB-650 speakers and can't decide whether to put them in the front or in the back? I still have a completely stock system and the old speakers sound awful (probably the paper cone woofer are torn).

I have the Polk Audio DB and i put them in my rear, they definitely make a big difference. I run a Powerful sub setup so alot of the time people tell me not to run rears but you can hear them well.

Just FYI I have an LX, I had to shave alot out of the speaker pods in order to mount these into the back.

I got some infinity 6.5s in the front. that install sucked... had to drill a bunch of shit into the black pods and they BARELY fit... my infinitys in the back went it perfectly though.

There are so many brands to choose from, depends on the cost, type of music you listen to etc. I personally love RF, but JL are also tops, Alpine, Kenwood Excelon, Pioneer Premier, Boston Acoustics, Kicker, Planet Audio and the list continues, Like I said buy anything but sony, lol, my least favourite next to audiovox, legacy, pyrimid, ultimate, etc. you should keep 6.5 in rear and put components up front then amplify them, in that order it seems the rears are awful stock speakers in accords! I replaced my rears first, then built custom enclosures for comps in the doors and amplified them! but disconnected the rears so I could fibreglass the rear deck to be more apealing!
