Time for an upgrade

Hey all I am trying to upgrade my system now. I have an audiobauhn 1206t and a RF 401s running it. The sub is in parrallel and at 2ohms. I have the sub bridged to it pushing only 400watts RMS. I need to upgrade the amp. I am currently looking into the alpine MRD-M1001 which is a 1000watts at 2ohms RMS. I am sure this will push the sub. I am asking on any other ideas on amps around 1000watts at 2ohms to push the sub. I will be getting some components in the front as well as new rear speakers. I have boston acostacs all around but i want more. I also need an amp for this I am looking at the alpine MRV-F340 V12 Series. I think it will be good. I also need some help chosing speakers. hmm looks like ur willing to spend some money on audio equip judging by the things ur looking at buying.

you could go all with all alpine amps and speakers. v12 series is really nice and clean and u could go with type-r or type-x components. the type-x speakers arent actually made by alpine but they supposedly are some of the best sounding components out there now.

another possibility would b some Focal components. they are alittle pricy but again are some of if not the best sounding speakers out there for car audio. they also might be a little hard to find in stores but im sure some of the high end car audio places can order them for you.

Yea i am willing to spend a bit of money. I am currently looking to get either the alpine type-R components or the infinity kappa 60.5. The focals are great but like many people i do have a budget and that kinda breaks the bank lol. Well i want to get the audio done now and then get some video. What kinda gauge wire am I looking at? I am thinking 2-0 then a distrubution block. Well thanks for your input.

blah, you can go on ebay and get the 60.5 kappas for like 175... dirt cheap.

as to what guage wire. it depends on how much power you are gonna b running. i would think 4aug or mayb 2 4aug power wires would work for you then split it from the block from there. i havent seen many set ups that used 2 or even 0 gauge power cables.

i plan on getting the type-r components myself once i get alittle extra money or i catch them on sale somewhere. i just love the way they sound. and for that price range i havent heard anything better.

Well I just ordered a 2 gauge kit with distrobution block. I am now going to get the components soon. I am going to keep the bostons and modify the rear door panels to put the set of speakers from the front in the rear doors and run those off the deck and the fronts and rears off the alpine amp. I will give it a try it should be ok.
