I take it you dont know too much about car audio? because a D class amp generates HARDLY any heat as it puts most of its energy into sound, so my current Sony amp never cuts out.

I have been told on many occasions that my sound system is awesome, Its crystal clear at all volumes, and certainly doesnt have any lack of bass, therefore i think the Sony components are just fine.

And before you guys rate a brand, dont rate it off a shitty litte sound system that "you heard" in the back blocks, why dont you look at some competition systems, and give some due credit.

wow. actually, i do know a lot about sound systems. most likely a lot more than you, and i know what it takes to win spl and sq competitions and sony isnt in either. im sure your system sounds great to the untrained ear, but to people that know what to listen for, it doesnt sound up to par. also, there are what, 2 or 3 different sony amp models that only differ by year? then if i heard one then ive heard them all, so thats why i put my input. "back blocks" LOL. And yes, sony does overheat like mad considering my friend is running a 500 watt sony amp with like 10 ga wire and it gets mad hot.

Well to be quite honest unless you own a Car audio and installation shop, I don't really think you would know a hell of alot more than me.
Haha people with an untrained ear One of the people that commented on my sounds is a caraudio SQ professional.
Also your "friend" can't be too bright if he's running 500w through a 10gauge wire. Is that RMS or PMPO
I think there is a difference between Hot and Overheating, If the Amps are rated at 95 degrees before the thermal protection kicks in, overheating would obviously be at 95 degrees and over. So i think the design manufactures would take into account that the amp can handle that temperature, or else they would bring the thermal protection down.

I admit Sony isn't for everyone.

I guess its more one of those things you have to see to beleive, but yea like I said i am planning to upgrade so i mite look around at some other amps
