    Wall in trunk?

Sorry for all the threads latley,j ust had a question. I'll be putting some subs in my car real soon and I was considering putting a carpeted wall in front of the sub box in the trunk to make it looks almost stock. I had a general idea of how to make one but I might have a dumb design.

The subs will be in a sealed box and the design that I drew real quick in paint looks crappy haha

Question is how much would this affect sound in my trunk? Air would still be able to get around the wall from the sides and top since it wont be totally sealed

well its not just wood that dark fabric has a screen behind it so it lets the waves travel better.

There is some touch up things i need to do to this. it will all be finished in a month or so.

cant really tell on how you are going to position the subs in your trunk by the picture that you made. are you going to have them like onbbs17s or have them so when you open the trunk and see the top of the box?? also when you put your seat down in the back, is there going to be alot of space there?

          just wondering??

also which way are the subs going to be firing? towards the taillights or towards the back of the seats?

The subs are already in a sealed box and they will be facing the tailights and the plan was to make a full wall from trunk floor to the decklid so all you see is carpeted trunk so it looks stock-ish.

The way I had it drawn in the picture was 4sides, left(closest to taillights), top and bottom which will actually be the sides, and another wall by the backseats to mount the amp and to secure the sides to something so it doesnt slide around.

Not sure if I should use a solid piece of wood for the sides or leave it open by using 1-2 smaller peices of wood.

If there is a better way of doing this someone let me know

If you want it to look stock I would leave a gap open in the middle of the wall and carpet over it. An semi dense surface is going to bounce off premature. I would do something like this but instead of making a screen like I did I would just capet over the hole.
