    Acid rain damage

I just got some Meguiars Nxt Tech wax today from pepboys. tried it out on my hood that's been pitted from acid rain. looks like it ate some clearcoat for dinner and left some white spots behind

anyway I applied it to half of the hood. looks better (got alot of the white spots up), but still needs some help. I may get some 3M rubbing compound tomarrow and see how well that does at getting some of these nasty marks out of my paint.

It's mainly my hood that needs ALOT of help. it has some normal ware and tare on the very ffront from rocks and junk. but other then that the paint looks pretty good. it looks like the clear coat was slightly damaged from the acid rain.

I'm thinking of going to pep boys and getting the Meguiars three step system and using the first two steps?

Gah, I need some good advice here guys! Let me know what you guys would use, and what products you trust.

    Thanks in advance!

do the 3m compound first..make sure its FINE CUT!!!

if that dont work then none of the other things u bought will help but only cover it up...dont waste ur time with the 2 step.

keep me updated ill try to think of other solutions, and if u can post a picture.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

            Retro!

the three step works better. but it takes lots of time! Take accordztech's advice and sue some of the fine cut 3m rubbing compound.

I already did the three steps over the hood, front fenders, front bumper and roof. too late now I guess. I will get the fine cut stuff if that's what they have next time I goto pep boys. you're right all it really did was cover up those marks and didn't really fix them.

where were you earlier today or yesterday? I could have used this advice earlier

I would if I could but this is the best digital camera I have access to (most current pic I have too):

I had to take my other good camera back because it was defective. and since I'm in a bit of a pinch moneywise, no new camera for a little wile I will ask the guys at the meet we're having july 18th in maryland to take a few extra pictures
kinda wish you could come to the meet as well, but since you're on the other side of the US I guess not.

Anyway thanks alot for the help
