    cleaning engine

    just bought a motor off some dude, but it been sittting in his garage for a year and its build up alota dirt now my question is can i hose it down and let it dry before installing or whats the best way to clean it up before i drop it in

    Search...They have write ups on how to clean engine bays which should be similar in cleaning your engine.

        yes, you can hose it.

        don't get any water inside the motor. cover the dizzy. use some brushes and a degreaser. just scrub and rinse. then use a leaf blower and some towels to dry it. later.
        Avoiding dirt at all costs
