      no. the pre-wax has polishers in it and further removes minor inperfections. later.

        That depends...if after claying you still have scratches, swirls that you know wax cannot fill alone, then using polish after clay and before wax is good. That doesn't mean tho that you'd be polishing the entire car. (Not counting if you need to machine polish it due to oxidation--whereby you may not even start with or use clay).

        Otherwise, if the paint doesn't have such problems polishing is unnecessary as it ever so slightly wears down the paint with use.
