How do I get rid of this tree sap?

I think I got some tree sap on my car, either that or glue. Its a yellowish color and its VERY hard, I dont wanna scratch the paint, do you guys recommend anything to get it off with?
You have been defeated by a car with child locks, how embarassing...

there might be a thread on this but you should try the product claybar. I hear good things about it although ive never tryed it myself. You can get it at autozone or advanced or any other store. If you cant find any i can ship you some

How is a clay bar going to take sap off?

you didn't give any details as to what you did or what happened other than to say that the tree sap is there.

if you haven't washed the car, i'd do that first to see what can happen.

i'd try a clay bar after washing. that should do the trick.

btw, here's a previous thread on the same situation... interestingly enough by maple:

absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
