Before and After Pics of Claying/Zaino on my friends M3

Hey guys, just wanted to inform those on the board that don't know about Zaino. It's a professional polish that is only sold thru mail order or thru local sales reps. I was a Mequiar's addict since that's what I could get at the local auto shop. However after rearding about Zaino over on the various Corvette and F-bod forums I finally decided to try it for the first time on my Hawk, then the Civic (pics in sig are pre-zaino).

Here's their site where you can read up more and look at more pics. I'd recommend the starter kit that they've recently made available. http://www.zainostore.com/

I guess I should put a desclaimer in here. I'm no detailing professional. Feel free to ask me any questions though and I'll try to help out. I'm not on expert on anything, just what I've learned from first hand experience in detailing 5 cars over the past 9 years.

    On to the BMW:

This is an example of a poor Hellrot M3 that hasn't been garaged since '99. 90,000 miles on the clock and was showing major, major signs of oxidation. My friend would power wash it, but never hand wash it. So what would any right minded Zaino freak do eh? That's right, Dawn, clay, Z7, then Z5

The Camera really hid most of the imprefections. However you can definately tell on the last two close up shots. Pics don't do it justice. We never realized just how 'pink' the paint had gotten because of the oxizidation. The clay bar did an amazing job of cleaning up the clear coat:

zaino is some good stuff for their price....if i can get my hands on it man....lookin good...
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

Yup yup, Zaino is sooooo much easier to apply than Meguiars. Also, with enough coats of Z5, you can just about hide any amount of swirl marks. That wasn't happening with Meguiars.

There are only a couple of swirls I can detect on my Firehawk. I have to be in the correct amount of sunlight and at just the right angle to see them though. Under flouresent light I can't see them.

It's amazing what Zaino can cover up.

I have vowed that I'd never ever own a black car because you can easily see swirl marks. My friend owns a Black Mustang, and after just one coat of Z5, most of them were hid. Black is an amazing color with Zaino.... makes me almost want to go out and by a black car!

But remember, ya GOTTA prep the paint for ANY kind of good polish, not just Zaino. Use dish washing liquid to strip the old wax and use a quality clay bar to get all the rest of the gunk out of the clear.

Here's a cool pic of after I got stuck in a rain storm in my Firehawk.

Wow that is just sweet. Very very nice results. I've heard nothing but praise about zaino on professional detailing forums, though a very affordable and good alternative is s100 wax, also used for motorcycle detailing. I'm going to order some and give it a shot soon.
