I used the jet from jeff, becuase I was doing mostly light
cars, but I guess I should try the wolfgang....
Have u heard good things about Klasse stuff?

I've used klasse AIO, and it is great if you're working on a car with light swirls, but when you have cars with years worth of damage I'd prefer to use just straight polish. If you're working with a fairly new car AIO is great. I used it on my 04 corolla, but if you're trying to work on a car like a cb7 which has over 10 years worth of damage it is kind of a lost cause.

I'm waiting for my vacation to start, so I can get started on detailing my cars. I've been collecting new supplies for this summer.

I've already purchased the following:
Meg's Heavy/Light/Med cut polishes from pro "mirror glaze"
series,
And Mother's Polish...
I have yet to use those on a car though...

When I Started I with practically the same product, but for a while I used Meguiars #80 DACP and it worked decent, but it took a long time and dusted a lot.

My method towards older cars is to start with compounds first since they have so many swirls then step down to a normal polish. Optimum Polymer Technology makes a really nice collection of compounds and polishes. They sell them in 8 oz sizes, so you could try them and see if you like them. The 8oz sample size is nice because I've bought a lot of 32oz bottles in the past that I've gotten rid of after using less than an ounce.

Yes they can be applied by machine. Basically a compound is more abrasive then a polish and is only meant to be used on deeper scratches. How are your skills with the rotary? Have you gotten used to the angle and controlling the machine, so that it doesn't skip on or burn the paint?

in my college bodyshop for like two years, but Ive never used it for correction...
I've always used a meg's 100 ( I think) for stuff like that...
Rotary buffers have the power to remove swirls that DA's dont seem to be able too..

Rotary buffers have the power to remove swirls that DA's dont seem to be able too..

Rotary buffers go at a higher speed then orbitals, so they can correct much more, but a slip can burn/melt the paint. Using tape on plastics, trims, and any curves is important with a rotary.

I melted some of the headlight on a celica before.

itll be a while before this happens unfortunately. ive got other projects to get to before fixing of rust commences. but im gonna work a ton of double shifts this winter to hopefully fund the rust fix

I had nothing to do this morning, so I started another detail. I'll be finishing it later this week when my rolls of tape come in and my new porter cable. I could only do large panels today because I ran out of tape, so I couldn't get close to the edges/plastic/door handles/antenna/emblems or body curves.

-Clayed with Pinnacle poly ultra clay + ONR clay lube
-Polished with Menzerna intensive polish
-Followed by Menzerna final polish
-Sealed with wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant
-After 24 hours Applied Wolfgang Fuzion carnauba wax

Has anyone used Zymol Carbon? Supposedly its the shit for dark colored cars. I was going to try some....then I found out its 54 dollars for 8 ounces of paste.
