does anyone know how to color mod projectors? I hear people talkin about it but am quite ignorant to it. I have already searched to no avail.

Color modding is achieved by varying the distance between the projector lens and the light source. Typically, the washer mod uses washers to increase space and/or create an angle as as to produce a colorful cutoff. By doing so, you lose the sharp line but gain more color. You could also go ahead and modify the cutoff shield.

          ...adjust accordingly

The "washer mod" is just to create a more colorful cutoff, not change the light color output all together. One to two washers are placed between the reflector bowl and the lense.....typically on JUST the bottom half, not the top half I believe.

good info man, but just for the thread poster's reference: the amount of washers and placement of the washers is different for all projectors

you just have to experiment with the typical projectors you're working with. ideally, you'll want to increase the color to stretch as far across the cutoff band as possible while sharpening it a bit as well. There's a 'sweet spot' for every porjector, and no two projectors (even if from the same model car) are alike (lense inconsistencies, reflector bowl plating quality)

Very true, this applcation is typical for the TSX/S2000 pieces.....maybe the E46 (non bixenon) projectors and possibly a few others.
