I would LOVE to do this conversion! Where'd u get it all at? Also, have u melted that stock projector piece yet, or did u swap it out with like a glass one or what? any updates?

HID is much lesser wattage then halogen, and much cooler... There is no need to swap projector units. Almost a year after I did it, I'm still thrilled with it. The night visibility is excellent, and it remains a mod that locally, not that common. If you'd like more pics, let me know. The car will be away for the winter soon!!

Can do man. A DIY with pictures the way I did the brake service is unlikely given the work involved, but I can definitely do a little write up for it!!

I'll snap a few pics too, of the setup 1 year later, post color shift, etc.

Holy crap I followed this whole thread an never once read what brand of projectors are being argued about.

"Those are eBay projectors that many people hate"

--- Is there only one brand or type of '90-'93 Accord aftermarket projector headlight assembly? And why are these seemingly available only on eBay?

The only sense I can make from any of this is that for best HID performance you need well-designed projectors units, either something that came stock on an expensive, recent car or from a specialty maker such as Hella.

If that's true it should matter little what headlight assembly they are installed in, as long as you ditch the supplied projector units (retaining the housing) or just put them into old DOT U.S. or JDM Accord housings and minimize or eliminate the effects of the old Halogen reflectors.

Of course I'm talking "absolutes" here, not suggesting there's "no way" EX-R's projectors aren't decent units.

JUST THAT I STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT KIND OR BRAND THEY ARE, how much they should cost, how easy it may or may not be to replace the provided projector units (if necessary) ... you get the idea.

Hey what kelvin temp is your HIDs? I have projectors like yours too and i like them on my car... except mines are chrome instead of black. Anyway yea... since i like my projectors that give crap lighting i wanted to get HIDs to improve the lighting while keeping the projectors in. Prolly like you i dun care what other cb7 owners say about how ugly projectors are... i kinda like em and it makes my car look more different than other accord owners in Hawaii.

wait.. just to clarify... u didnt retrofit right? i was following up and i kinda didnt catch it. im assuming u bought projectors from ebay and swapped out the stock bulbs and replaced them with HIDs right? correct me if im wrong... its late and this forum is long.

It's a McCulloch 6000K kit that I had made for the combination of aftermarket projector bulb, and stock harness. I didn't retrofit... these are ebay projectors. Admittedly, I'm now wondering if I'll replace them or buy JDM lamps, but for now, I'm still VERY happy with this install, more then a year later.

yea u sure did get lucky! looks like a retrofit in the picture. i think mines will become the unhappy one cuz i can already see some glares against my garage door with the stock h3 bulbs.

Just got my HIDs! 6000k h3 mcculoch. there are freakin awesome! with my ebay projectors (no retrofit) it almost has a clean cut off. really small glares. cut off has some color. Obviously the lighting isnt evenly distributed but i can see a hella lot better. serisouly really doubted these ebay projectors but they are better than they are worth. im happy with my set up now! just thought id share also. thanx 92Accord EXR for ur review on urs. it inspired me!
