H7 bulb vs H3/H3C bulb in Fogs (both sets)

As I have been lurking around and reading and I dug up some old threads about how hard the H3C bulbs are hard to find and the H3's are not. I was wondering if anyone was running an H7 bulb in their fogs in lieu of the H3/H3C (9091/9293 respectively)? I would also like to know if there is any advantage to running the H7 over the H3 in lighting at all. I do know that the H7 is slightly long than the H3 is. I would just like to have some further input on the H7 bulb, that is, if anyone is in fact running it.

I was till i pulled them, you just use the ground tab on the bulb instead of the bucket (like a speaker terminal) they snap right in, if you want ill have to find them first, but take a fitment pic with an h7 in it

oh and these were in before the reflector delete

Was there any benefit to a reflector delete? I may very well go and run an H7 HID in my fogs with that being said then.

well..they were deleted because they were so horribly corroded lol..but the light output was fine considering the buckets just had spray chrome on them, i think the reflectors help the bulb fill the whole assembly with light rather then a hotspot behind the lens.

Reflector delete renders the fog optically useless, as will running an H7 bulb in an H3 reflector

You prob could get away with an LED array. They have them cheap and connectable to 12V directly.

um ok. not the reflector bucket, the little backscatter piece of metal like in the low beams. taking out the reflector completely would be retarded. running an h7 bulb vs an h3 makes no difference, theyre both still bulbs with slightly different casing and produce light.

If I take that out I will be doing a projector mod to it....

Running an H7 bulb is way different from an H3 bulb. A reflector designed around a bulb won't work with another bulb. I mean there will still be light coming out of the reflector, but most of it won't get to the road. IF all you care about is how your foglights look then go ahead, but if you want them to actually work, stick with the bulb designed to go into them.

I just used an H3C bulb and retrofited the pig tail (being that I think it makes more sense) with the H3C (9393 pigtail) and used that. Now to find it in HID 4300k or less.

                      This is the best idea.
